Greetings,

I am Reza Masomi, a Persian-American Navy Veteran, whose life's journey has been marked by determination, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to personal and community betterment. At the age of nine, I left Iran with my family, seeking political asylum in the United States, driven by the pursuit of a brighter future and the dream of experiencing the land of liberty and valor. Our path to the United States included two years in Germany while we awaited the necessary visas. Tragically, just ten days before our arrival in the U.S., my father's life was cut short in an unforeseen plane accident.

Growing up without a male role model, I sought inspiration from accomplished athletes and influential figures. It was during this time that I developed a profound passion for the game of basketball. Despite having a background in soccer, I quickly adapted to basketball, allowing me to compete with my peers. However, my late start in the sport and delayed physical maturation prevented me from earning a basketball scholarship during my high school years.

Determined to transform my dreams into reality by playing the sport I loved at the highest level - professional basketball - I made a pivotal decision to enlist in the U.S. Navy at the age of 18, proudly serving on the USS Carl Vinson CVN 70. My motivation extended beyond personal ambition; I viewed military service as a means to both give back to my adopted country and enhance my athletic abilities while securing a free education, all in pursuit of my dream.

During my dedicated service from 2000 to 2004, I actively participated in combat operations, including Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, demonstrating unwavering courage and dedication.

Following my military tenure, I embarked on a new chapter by walking onto the basketball team at a private institution in San Antonio, Texas - the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW). There, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology. My educational journey continued as I pursued a Master's in Psychology at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Concurrently, I had the privilege of honing my professional basketball career, which included a stint in Germany.

With over 18 years of coaching experience, my passion for assisting others in reaching their goals and dreams has been a driving force in my life. It is this fervor that has led me to transition my coaching expertise into the international mentorship field. My mission is to channel my knowledge and energy into empowering youth, aiding those in need, and contributing to the development of strong foundations within communities and nations.

From my earliest memories, my dream has been to make a positive impact on the world, a dream that is now becoming a reality through my organization. "It's Possible: Perfection of Self" embodies our vision to effect profound change in the world, one country at a time, leveraging the unifying power of basketball.

I invite you to join us on this remarkable journey led by Reza Masomi, as we collectively work towards leaving an enduring legacy and fostering positive change through the beautiful game of basketball.

Yours sincerely,

Reza Masomi
